Alessandro's
About This Spot
Stepping into Alessandro's feels like being welcomed into a warm Italian home where everyday moments are savored slowly. Nestled on Lake Road West in Ashtabula, this family-run spot wraps guests in a comforting, unhurried atmosphere filled with familiar smiles and heartfelt greetings. The pace here invites you to relax, linger over conversation, and settle into an evening where food is crafted with time-honored care and genuine affection.
The ambiance strikes a thoughtful balance between casual and special — it’s the kind of place where the subtle hum of friendly chatter blends with the tempting aromas of garlic, fresh herbs, and slow-simmered sauces. Here, every meal feels like a celebration of tradition without pedestal, an authentic slice of Italian hospitality that extends beyond the food to the people who serve it.
Sharing a meal at Alessandro’s is less about ticking through a menu and more about unfolding a story on your plate. A basket of warm, personally buttered Italian bread arrives early, setting the tone for experiences like the delicate spinach ravioli or the tender lamb chops that speak to thoughtful sourcing and time-honored preparation. The wine list complements each bite, with thoughtful pairings that invite quiet indulgence. Desserts like chocolate tartufo or house-made tiramisu that arrive with a soft, unspoken invitation to stay a little longer.
Visitors often mention a sense of being cared for—not only by attentive servers who delight in sharing details about each dish but also by a kitchen that wears its heritage plainly in every lovingly executed meal. It’s an environment where repeat visits feel less like outings and more like reconnecting with old friends and family.
For those seeking a true neighborhood gathering spot, Alessandro’s offers a subtle richness in experience: the unpretentious joy of fresh, authentic Italian flavors combined with a setting that honors the ritual of dining itself. Whether you come from near or far, it’s the kind of place where the language of food speaks warmly, clearly, and with a gentle grace.

Just follow me. I am a foodie and love a family atmosphere. If you want cooking with love and to feel it come here. Family business who treats you like family from the moment you walk in. Literally an experience. Every time I am in town I go. My favorite, my favorite family! You will not be disappointed. Go. You will thank me later.

Alessandro's was excellent. The server was fantastic and answered all our questions. The mussels were the largest I ever saw and so delicious. All our meals were fantastic. The eggplant Parm and pasta was outstanding. The calzones were huge and delicious. Great spaghetti. A 5 star meal.

Authentic, delicious Italiano! My favorite is the spinach ravioli! My husband loves the tortellini! Homemade bread! Cannoli! All so good! Love the atmosphere and the service is always excellent! We drive an hour to have dinner here when we are in Pymatuning!

The dishes we had were wonderfully prepared and tasted so fresh. Best white sauce ever tasted, and felt clean after eating it. So worth the wait and made for a special date night

My wife planned a weekend trip to Ashtabula and a neighbor at our Vrbo recommended Alessandro's. We decided to go Saturday evening. When we walked in we were greeted by a girl so friendly that I thought my wife might have previously known her! Our waitress was great along with all of the staff! The food was excellent! Thank you for making it a perfect evening!!

Our experience was great. Our meal was delicious. Loved the marinara sauce flavor. Generous portions and reasonable pricing. Loved the homemade bread. Nice atmosphere. Our waitress was very friendly.

Revisited after about 6 years. 10 minute wait on a Saturday was acceptable as they do not take reservations. Found the service, especially our waiter, Giuseppe, excellent. Food was tasty but lacked a little in the presentation. This is not a place for a romantic dinner as the setting is that of an Italian Sunday dinner. All in all, enjoyed our time and will recommend.

We frequent this awesome Italian restaurant whenever we are in geneva. Super friendly family restaurant. Can't go wrong with any of the chefs family waiting on you. They are attentive and always greet with a smile no matter how busy they are. Get there early or go late. There's a reason for this. The food and family speak for themselves. Highly recommend. Thanks to all. Job well done.
